Delete your account
You can permanently delete your Spinal account and the personal data associated with it. The Service is operated by SPINE DAO, a non-profit association (Verein) organized under Articles 60 et seq. of the Swiss Civil Code (ZGB), with registered office at c/o MJP Partners AG, Bahnhofstrasse 20, 6300 Zug, Switzerland. There are two ways to delete your account.
Option 1 — From the mobile app (recommended)
- Open the Spinal app on your iPhone or Android device.
- Open the Profile tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm the action when prompted.
Your account is queued for deletion immediately and purged within 30 days.
Option 2 — By email
If you can’t access the app, email our Data Protection Contact from the address registered to your account so we can verify the request:

What gets deleted
- Your profile (name, email, picture, institution, specialty, bio, position, professional credentials).
- All posts, comments, “helpful” marks, and clinical-case data you created.
- All direct messages you sent.
- All image and file uploads from object storage.
- Push notification tokens for your devices.
- Your verification-request history and any moderation reports you filed.
- Any wallet address linked to your account (we never custody funds, so nothing on-chain is affected).
What may be retained, briefly
- Encrypted database backups, until they roll off (within 90 days).
- Aggregated, non-identifying logs used for security and abuse prevention.
- Records we are legally required to keep (e.g. financial records, if applicable).
Things to know before you delete
- Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
- Posts and comments you made may have been quoted, screenshotted, or saved by other members; we cannot recall those.
- If you signed in with Apple or Google, deleting your Spinal account does not delete your Apple or Google account.
